Firefox 2 and 3 issues (Linpus)

    edit --> preferences --> advanced tab --> network tab --> enable disk cache *untick or set to 0mb*

    If you mean 'did the trick work', then yes, I tried it and it does improve the 'hitting the disk' problem somewhat. It's better now in FF3, but it doesn't quite prevent the browser from lighting up the hard drive light noticeably (after the page has already loaded) every few pages.

    Same here, it does still hang briefly sometimes right after loading a new page. Might be the history :s

    It is the history. When it grows some minor stalling returns. If you reduce the size of it everything is finally stalling free. I've updated the post about it.

    My firefox 3 uses gigantic fonts for some websites. I remember there was a post on adding additional fonts, but can't find it anywhere. Could anyone please point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    I've switched back to Firefox 2 - and it's performing much better.

    FF3 performance seems to be broken on linux - I'm getting similar behavior on other machines with much faster disks in them.
