Firefox hanging -- perhaps needs reinstalling?

    Hello,

    Can anyone help me? my wife has an Acer Aspire one the Linux version,
    and the Browser has stopped working. If you click on the Browser Icon
    nothing happens, if you click again it says a Firefox process is already
    running and you have to reboot to start again.

    Can anyone suggest anything to try or how to uninstall and reinstall
    firefox?

    In case anyone else gets this problem, my son found that by going on to
    the wkipaedia icon and starting firefox through that something got reset
    and we could restart firefox as normal after that.
