Well, I hope someone can help me out. My Firefox has been acting strange, it sometimes freezes but I can see the loading circle all the time. It's like Firefox is having some trouble loading something. I checked the plug in and add on section, it's says shockwave needs updating.

Do you guys think that is the problem? Firefox used to load sites very fast, no waiting time, now it seems very new tab I open will cause some issues. This is so strange coming from Firefox.

I had the same thing. But I downloaded a newer version of Shockwave from their site. I did NOT click on any suggested update already there. Now Firefox seems fine.
And once had another problem and suspected that a site had uploaded some spyware onto Firefox. So I UNinstalled Firefox completely, Including the downloaded files in my Downloads folder, so as to take OUT ALL Firefox files, restarted, did an AVG scan and a CC Cleaner scan. Restarted again. Then went to ZD Net or C/Net and downloaded the latest Firefox all over again.
    It all working fine again.

On a simple fumble with Firefox, you can just reinstall it from your Downloads folder. From when you first installed. Sometimes a file gets corrupted and a reload fixes it again.

Thanks a lot, I am going to try that. I tried installing the new version of Shockwave, but it doesn't seem to have helped a bit. So am going to uninstall Firefox today and see how it goes. Thanks a lot for the help :) I should scan my laptop again, I am a bit worried since I installed an app to download videos.

After the new update of Firefox, I experienced some of the problems you've mentioned so I clear my cache and history. It seems to be working as it should now. I also use CCleaner when my computer gets a bit slow!

This explains it all, thanks! Right after I got my laptop back I was experiencing this! It makes sense, i thought tit was because my shockwave plug in was not updated. I updated it, but Firefox didn't recognize it as such. I can understand why they did this though, I can, but it's going to be a tough path for many.

I still need to get CCleaner :) I will try it, i had been thinking those guys at the repair shop had done something to my laptop, its good to know that might not have been the case. I also noticed a lot issues after the update, my biggest issues get worse when I have just opened the browser.

@Sefie That doesn't sound good! Taking your computer in to get fixed is taking a chance to get more problem than we originally had. Some are honest, while many are not so they can continue to make money on us. Unless you really trust your repair man, I would look for more reputable places to take mine in. I have been thinking about Office Depot or Staples for fixing as my laptop is suffering over heating problem.

I do recommend CCleaner though! It will help with the sluggish!

@IcyBC Thanks, I have made peace with it, I had already forgotten about that ''scratch'' until I read this again, lol. I don't care anymore, but one thing is for sure, I will never ever take my laptop there again. I intended to take my laptop to a more reputable place, but I couldn't find the place (huge city), and I didn't seem to see a lot places where they fixed laptops... this place was the only one open :(
