    SORTED! - see below...

Hi. Afraid I'm an Aspire newbie - only just got it - but I have used Firefox with MS Windows (sh!) for several years.

On my Windows PC I have a frame-based home page which I have transferred to the Aspire, but it doesn't work correctly there. I wonder if I have an addressing problem?

On the Aspire I have Firefox 2.0.0.14. It handles the frame-based home page correctly when I open it from my USB stick, an SD card, and from my website; but when I install the files in any of the Aspire directories, things go wrong...

    • My homepage is initially displayed correctly, with my contents list in a frame down the left hand side, and the main screen area containing the links. (see picture below) [/*:m:3bakfhir]
    • BUT whenever I click on an item in the left hand frame, instead of displaying the associated page (say 'holidays.htm) in the main window I get:
'File not found' - Firefox can't find the file at /mnt/home/Documents/links/holidays.htm[/*:m:3bakfhir]

Any ideas what is going wrong?

below is the screen layout on my Windows PC

Re: Firefox not handling local frames correctly (revised)

I see a number of people have looked at this, but noone has commented yet

I have amended my post as I found that when I open my home page from my USB stick everything works fine.
Similiarly it works fine from my website.
I wonder if there is an Acer addressing problem here?

    Any comments much appreciated

    Thanks

SORTED! Being a Linux Virgin I had overlooked the fact that the Linux file system is case-sensitive, so it didn't like my upper case filenames in the local directories - although it didn't object when they were on my USB stick or SD card!
