Today I got my first netbook and first portable computer for that matter. It's a Acer Aspire One (obviously) 532h-2268 that I picked up for $300 which seems like a pretty good deal. I'm looking at changing from Windows 7 Starter to Mac (hopefully) or maybe 7 ultimate or Chromium OS or some version of linux. Not sure where to start, any recommendations?

Windows 7 ultimate runs great, but first thing you need to do is upgrade the Ram memory to 2gb, it is easy to do and whole different experience. Aero runs smooth.

Plenty of decent versions of Linux to choose from. If you're interested in Linux but haven't used Linux before, I definitely recommend running from a bootable USB flash drive to try it out. I run Fedora as my primary Linux distro; Ubuntu seems to be the most popular among users in this forum. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, and three pairs of a whole slug of other distros that work just fine on the AA1.
