    Hi,
I have an Acer Aspire One ZG5 / AOA110, having bios version 3310. After installing Ubuntu the SD card reader (both left and right side) did not mount automatically, unless having a card inserted at boot. I have searched the whole internet for a solution and tried many things, but finally i found this working:
add the line "acpiphp" to the etc/modules file (with sudo).
I am very glad that i finally got them working as they should!!!!

In my installation of Lubuntu 11.10 it did not work

Also the advice in this link: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ExpressCard did not work. My 16GB SD card with two partitions did not work. Data in One of the partitions are used to start thunderbird: all my e-mails are on this partition as lokal files.
I think one needs to modify fstab but I don't know exactly how to do that in Ubuntu 11.10
