This is absolutely incredible, like a previous comment, this seems even much better than using the write filters. Excellent work!

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

Problems show up for most of our XP users,

... if your XP system doesn't shut down or restart normally, the system will start to self-test with a blue-screen every time when u start your windows...and even not able to fix any problem by the windows file system self-testing procedure. I have shorten this annoying self-testing procedure by modifying some key values in the registry file. but the self-test screen still pop up to alert me the drive is "Dirty"...

i also noticed that not only myself has this problem .. all other friends from my circle (acer one 110 SSD users) all have this trouble after they installed flashpoint SSD driver.
but, i still wanna thank the programmer of flashpoint who contributes this stunning software to us... it really gives my SSD netbook the second life!

Thanks for this! I was in the brink of selling my AAO 110 Due to super SLOW ssd performance. Now, everyone I know wants to buy my AAO but i dont want to sell it anymore. KUDOS To the creator of this magnificent driver!

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

    Beta4 version is now available.
I hope the reliability problem has been solved.

    I also tested Beta4 on Windows7 RC Build 7100.
Except hibernation mode, it seems to be fine in general.

Please, try it, and give me some comments via email ([email protected]) .

As a poor college student it was pretty disheartening to begin to hate my AAO. I thought of replacing it every time I used used it, but i'm to poor! Now I can use my AAO like it was meant to be. I love it now, thanks dude (or dudete) ^_^)

    Hi all,

It seems that the new Beta4 release has cured my problem of throughput being held at 5Mb/s. It also cured my checkdisk problem when booting in windows.

Thank you very much. Now it's funny to work on this little AAO.

So, this program will work much better on MLC drives then with SLC drives. Is that correct?

I just replace the 160Gb rotational drive in my AA1 with a Samsung SLC SSD.

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

    Hi zflashpoint,

Finally after some tests, i think that even if my stats are better, the SSD is slower than before. I explain myself, when i boot it takes longer, and when in windows, the SSD led is on and doesn't even blink at all for a minute or so. Before the Beta4, it was zippier and was loading quickier.

when i uninstalled the Beta3 to put the Beta4, i experience a BSOD when rebooting. I have not been able to see what is the problem was 'cause it has reboot too fast. So i installed the Beta4 with Beta3 still installed. After that, I removed the diskfp in UpperFilter. I boot to a bootable USB pendrive. Copied the diskfp.sys in system32\drivers. After that, Windows rebooted.

I wonder if my problems are related to the mis-installation of FP Beta4. Now, i want to start from scratch. How can i do that without having BSOD's...

    thank you.

I think i need to specify that i'm using Windows XP Pro SP2...

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

Tested beta4 earlier today... and so far so good. Haven't done any formal testing, but all seems well. Didn't notice any difference from beta 3. But if it improves reliability all the better. Beta 3 was stable on my AAO... Thanks zflashpoint, keep up the good work. :)

I have the same SSD as you and I think it's a bit snappier with Flashpoint but benchmarking doesn't show a significant difference

ditto (rev3). Also diskcheck problem every startup so I just disabled it. Aside from these two problems, otherwise excellent job!

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

Is it possible to install this on Vista?

When I right click the .ini file it just says that the INF file you selected does not support this method of installtion.

    Any ideas?

    TIA

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

First, a massive THANK YOU for this excellent piece of software, it transforms the SSD performance on the 4 A110Ls I just installed it on (all XP Pro SP3 FAT32 FP ver 3.1).
A couple of comments/questions; all SSDs are the later Intel ones and I struggle to get anywhere near the speeds some of these screenshots show, I average around 13Mbs read speed. Also, if I defrag the drive the benchmarks drop around 15%.... odd.
If there is a fix it would be nice to know but, TBH, the performance is on a par with my dual core/2GB main laptop, so I'm not complaining :D

i also had a problem with the windows updates after installing flashpoint.. but i searched msn and found a solution..

follow this and updates will work fine.. they do for me now :)......

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Update service, and then click Stop.
Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder by changing the name to the SDold folder. The SoftwareDistribution folder is located in the %systemdrive%:\Windows folder.
Restart the Automatic Update service. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Update service, and then click Restart.
Clear the cached files from Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. To do this, follow these steps:
    Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Under the Temporary Internet files section, click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
Click Delete Files, click to select the Delete all offline content check box, and then click OK.
Under the History section, click Clear History, click Yes when you are prompted to delete the history, and then click OK.

    hope this helps you...

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

big thanks to the creator zflashpoint for this!

    however, a small problem:

when i visit the windows update website to install updates (not automatic) but optional hardware updates i get a blue screen and rebooted.

tried renaming that folder unclelimey, but no luck, any ideas?

also, sometimes when booting into windows it will start disk checker?

    thanks
