    Re: FlashPoint on a HDD?

Thanks! B6 is working like a charm thanks to it reverting back to upper filters. :D

Thanks for this good piece of software....KUDOS...my AAO S(low)SD...starts/shutdown faster than my MBP!.....Honestly I've to admit that my MBP uses a full version and my AAO a new NLited version. But nevertheless......GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!!!! I'll keep this piece of software in my list of needed tweaks.

    Re: FlashPoint: SSD accelerator

I was about to give up on running Windows 7 on my Aspire One (A110-AGb) until I found Flashpoint.
With Beta 5 it boots in under 50 secs:
(*that's my own Aspire One in the movie*)

    This program absolutely rocks :)

    WTH, http://zflashpoint.blogspot.com/is offline ?
I mailed Hyojun Kim to ask what's going on and I found it for you on RapidShare: http://rapidshare.com/files/251071994/f ... 5.rar.html

    Thank you Tomba!

    Btw:
Hyojun Kim - If you read this:

I think this software is great and from my own point of view I'd really appreciate if it would stay free!!! I would, however, fully understand if you choose to make it a commercial product or sell the software to a large company (e.g. Intel, Samsung or any other SSD-producer). You're sitting on a gold mine and it's up to you to choose whether to freely give that gold to the rest of us or keep it to your self (I know what I would have done!).

    Regards

    Re: SSD accelerator

Hi, I have been using Flashpoint beta 5 on Windows 7 and it speeds me up greatly which is awesome, but nothing is saving on my computer. If I try to leave it on long enough to write changes to the SSD it crashes (tried shutting off sleep doesn't work), so basically I can't save any changes. Does anyone have a solution for this? The computer runs so much better with this installed, but I can see it getting really annoying if nothing is saving.

    Re: SSD accelerator

Wow, just WOW.......thank you so much for this, what a difference!

I installed b5 and my daughter's A110 (1.5GB, Samsung SSD) is now perfectly usable in Win 7 and gives my oc'd Q6600 4GB desktop a run for its money ! (So no need to buy that replacement HDD any more, yippeee!)

I really can't believe that it takes someone in the community to sort these problems (that obviously shouldn't have been there in the first place) out.

As someone else said, I hope you're talking with the big companies to sell this as it deserves to make you big money. In the meantime, if you can set up a PayPal donation page I will gladly give what I can !

    Re: SSD accelerator

Flashpoint is great, but how do I uninstall Beta 6? Somehow I have mucked up my install and I would like to take it off the system for a while.

    Thanks

    Re: SSD accelerator

    Uninstall- Beta4 above
    1. Execute regedit
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Control-Class-{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. Then, double click LowerFilters (It should have ‘diskfp’)
    4. Remove ‘diskfp’
    5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Service-diskfp
    6. Remove whole diskfp (Select diskfp, push delete key)
    7. Reboot

But you can also "disable" Flashpoint with (from a command prompt) fpcntl.exe 0 off, you'll find fpcntl.exe in the zip file of the beta6. fpcntl.exe 0 on to restore Flashpoint.

    Bye

    Re: SSD accelerator

I installed the V5 flashpoint and now I'm kinda screwed. My machine doesn't remember anything I change on the desktop or in the system. I've tried the disable function, tried the regedits, and even tried the uninstall packaged with V6. None of these seem to take since it appears any changes to the registry don't get written to the disk!!

Is there any way to fix this without reintalling windows?
