Just a quick question... my AA1 Linux has got the horrible blue screen - and has frozen with all my information on the HD seemingly lost :(

I think it's worth 'Flashing the BIOS' - but will doing this scrub or delete the Hard Drive or not? I have essential information on there.

    :)

Flashing the bios does not effect any information on the hard drive.

Thanks Jerry. In the absence of access to a PC capable of formatting a FAT USB stick I have tried with an empty one - and nothing. Will formatting to FAT really make the difference? The Aspire One is still going back to the blue screen, and I really need those files off it.

    Hi Jerry,

The second option didn't work, so I'm now downloading the UNetbootin app on my other Acer Aspire. I take it when I try to boot up with the USB stick on my broken Acer it should then work? My stick is 256Mb.

    Thanks again!!

If the second option "Bios Recovery" did not work, the first option won't work either.

You need a good working AOA110 and then swap hard drives and save your data to an external USB hard drive. I would offer to save your data, but all I have is the AOA150's.

Thanks for offering! So... as I have a second Aspire A0A110 - how easy/hard would it be to swap them over - are there any How To's online? :)
