formatting acer aspire

my new acer apire is preinstalled with linpus linux OS. when i start my laptop, nothing happens. i don't understand because it's maybe "stuck" in booting like this :

i want to install xp but i dint know how. pls help and give specific details and commands. im new in this technology. tnx

 

If you are new to this, installing xp on a netbook is not the easiest first project. When I first did it, I followed the guide in the following link:

You need to follow it scrupulously and not be interrupted when you do it the 1st time. It should then work.
