is your internet take for every to boot up now and randomly crash since installing internet explore 8. Seems like the first time you open ie8 it takes for ever compared to instantaniously with ie7 but once it's up it runs smooth and fast. Then out of no where it will be running fine and then just slow way down and eventually crash! anyone else getting this.

Nope. It's probably just the slow SSD that's causing the slow down.

I'm finding IE8 faster and a lot better than IE7. It's easy enough to remove it and revert to IE7 to test if it's the update, using Add/Remove Programs.

I too have the 160gb version and have run into the exact same problem after installing IE8. Freezes up and locks up everything, no task manager, no start bar, ctrl+alt+del doesnt even work. Just did a fresh eRecovery back to factory default and have put in all available updates. No extras put in at all to ensure it is an IE8 or windows update conflict/problem. Will let you know how it turns out.

OK....updated almost everything windows had to offer (except the Aetheros LAN port update and smart card update) IE8 is working fine, not slow at all. Must be a conflict with a program i had previously installed. So far i have installed Yahoo Messenger and it is still running smooth.

As i add more updates i will keep you posted as to when/if i get the problem back again.

Why would you install xvid when you have divx? When you installed divx, it automatically disables xvid.
