    Hi,

I moved from an A150 to a new D250 (XP HD version - 1280 x 720) yesterday. Since I want to (only) run Win7 (as I do on the A150), I swapped the harddrive for a new 250GB 7200 RPM version and put 2 GB RAM in (didn't even booted the original harddisk/XP OS - keeping that one aside to "refurbish" it a later stage ;) ) and installed a 1.25 firmware (with slic 2.1).

Installation was a breeze, everything is up an running. Nice little system and the extra pixels do make a hell of a difference :D

Just one little thing I would like to have answered. On the A150 the WLAN LED (orange) is blinking when data is transmitted. On the D250, it is either on (green) or off but not blinking when data is transmitted, Is this normal behavior for the D250?

    Thanks,

ps. One little "cosmetic" issue I have is that Win7 reports the 1.66 Ghz to be running at 1.33 Ghz. The new 1.26 firmware supposingly fixes this, but I need a slic 2.1 added first in to order to test this. A little benchmark proggy I ran, reported the CPU to be running at ~ 1.66, so that is why I believe it is only "cosmetics".

On my D250 (0bk) I have never taken much notice of the WLAN indicator LED but I'm pretty sure mine only blinks when there's data throughput.

According to the Acer website BIOS 1.26 fixes the issue with incorrect reporting of CPU frequency. I updated yesterday, but can't honestly say I perved on the system properties all that much so I can't say if it's true. I just checked and it is indeed saying the CPU is running at 1.60GHz.

As for SLIC, well I just plain don't know what that is. I do know that my D250 with 2Gb RAM is running Win7 Ultimate without any dramas.

    Thanks Swarvey!

Updated to 1.26 as well and the CPU info is now indeed correctly displayed by Win7. Doesn't have any impact on the performance however ...

BTW: Slic 2.1 in the bios allows for OEM-activation of Win7 ...
