Games on the AO751H

The wizards of Google indicate that there is no adequate answer to this question, "What games work well on the AO751H?" So, seeing as this is the premier forum for the AO751H, I figured it worth a try to see what games folks have successfully installed and run... I'll update this initial post occasionally based upon responses.

World of Warcraft is SLOW. 4FPS native res, turning down to 800x600 I can get 10fps in barrens...everything turned down.

 

Whith new beta driver for xp now runing perfect...

Good to hear that it works for you.

But there are more good news about the GMA500. According to a very well informed source, IMG-Tech/PowerVR who is selling is selling the graphic-chip to intel (and also Apples iPhone 3GS or the upcoming Sony PSP2) we actually only see 10-30% of its power. This is about to change in the near future.

No, they are not. The GMA500 has a completely different graphics processor from the regular Aspire One, and a different CPU. Experience from the 10-inch aspire one is not very relevant for the gaming performance of the 751.

 

Yes it is different The 751:
is 300mhz slower CPU wise

its gma500 will only use upto 256 meg of ram MAX and does NOT have Dynamic Video Ram
so when your app or game needs more video ram it Dont get it.

the gma 500 is slower by 50Mhz

Max Memory Bandwidth (GB/s) is less gma500= 4.2GB/s vs the Gma 950= 10.7GB/s

Hence the games that will work on the others will work on it just the frame rate will differ.

So to support your statement that all netbooks are basically the same when it comes to gaming, you are referencing a benchmark where the GMA500 scores only a third of other normal netbook GPUs?
Can we then agree that all netbooks are NOT the same when it comes to gaming?

Note: I definitely did not claim that the GMA500 is faster. Only that it is not the same.

 

By beta driver you mean the IEGD driver?

 

I think he means the IEGD 10.1 drivers.

Had success with Wing Commander Prophecy / Secret Ops using Win98 compatibility mode in Windows 7. Updated list.
