Judging by the ASDA AAO deal thread over on HUKD, we should be expecting an influx of new AAO owners anytime soon

I know it can be an uphill struggle to get the LINPUS AAO working as easily as an XP lappy, so I thought I would post some screenshots of what can be achieved to give the newcomers hope, please contribute with your own setups

welcome aboard, the more the merrier

in fact the more people that have AAOs then the more likelyhood of native support in the next versions of fedora and ubuntu, making out lives easier

come on folks dont be shy, where are these lovely desktops and new AAOs ?

you can all do screenshots easily, from terminal just type

    gnome-screenshot

    or

    gnome-screenshot --interactive

you can start a terminal session from the file manager

show us what nice utilities and apps you have installed

That's all above my head-only just worked out how to change the desktop pic !!

To be honest i seem to getting more and more wound up every time I switch it on. The grey bar at the bottom disappeared, I did a search on here to get it back again and have managed to get the time and the off icon back into it but I did have the wireless connection status and battery icon before but can't see these in the same list.

Plus the search bar has moved down and now sits on top of my 'work' box. Very helpful!!

Other than that I'm pleased with it! :D

    good on you mate

a few years ago, I installed redhat onto a laptop, it was all very easy and painless, and I learnt nothing from the installation, and sat there thinking, now what do I do ?

in the end I reverted the machine to windoze

by perservering with linpus on the AAO I feel we will get more out of it when we finally tame the beast, and you should get plenty of support from the folks on this forum. for my own benefit, I put together a set of notes on how to unlock my machine to the state show above in the screenshots, I timed it last night whilst working on a new AAO, and it took approx 20mins, with the exception of the windows xp install which took another hour, and some of the downloads which I already had

Yeah, and this thing is resorting me to drink, just like a bad party!!
Just been to Macdonalds (have all McD's got Wifi?) and thought I'd see if I could connect to the internet, the thing did'nt want to know and I could'nt find the connection manager to try and find a signal. Usually it comes up automatically that it can't find signal and invites me set up a new connection-I get home and that's exactly what it does!

I'm learning though thanks to this forum-I've just restored my taskbar to how I want it after it went missing!! I WILL master it!!
