Looks absolutely perfect for me, I was wondering if anybody knows if it still works, or even better, if they've successfully added it to their AAO?

I came some way down the path of installing it... but then suspected that I needed to install FUSE -

which implied a new kernel... I'm not ready to try that right now

ok, I found this -

which shows how to avoid the kernel dependency.
gmailfs is now working for me
