I timed my boot time of my fresh Windows 7 install (build 7000). 55 seconds between pressing the power button and having a working desktop ! Not bad ! Not bad at all!

That's good alright, but does your mic work? Does the battery icon show up in the task bar? How about the volume icon? I'm about ready to give up on XP.

My boot time for w7 wasn't any better than Vista is (45 seconds from pressing power button to working desktop). I think it was about 55 seconds as well. Ah well, definitely not bad for the latest OS from Microsoft.

Surprises me the power of these little devices.

about 1 minute 5 seconds to the desktop, but that's not saying much, cause the fricken SSD will sit there hammering away for another few minutes before i can actually do anything. The performance is dire. I've done all the Windows and NTFS tweaks I can find. It's useable once it settles down, but it's not ideal the way it is currently. Shut down times are a joke.

Heres a video I did of mine. Can't get over how snappy the os feels on this thing. Wish we had the new boot screen :( crappy resolution restrictions.

My boot time with XP is better than 2 minutes but I don't care. I'm running full anti virus, firewall and about 10 yahoo widgets. Before customizing it everything booted pretty quickly.

BTW. What are the benefits of Windows 7?
