Chrome has pretty much been my browser of date since its release a few years ago, but I've found that it's been getting progressively worse and worse when it comes to hogging system resources. A single instance of Chrome with a few tabs, maybe an extra window, always seems to gobble up the majority of my laptop's RAM, and if I try to run other stuff my system will occasionally chug. I'm running it on a MacBook Pro, so this shouldn't be that much of an issue, especially when the other program running is a stupid text editor.

At any rate, Google released an update a few days ago that's supposed to cut down on RAM hogging substantially, and as far as I know it was pushed through automatically. Has anyone found much of a difference at all with their Chrome? I know mine has been updated, but I haven't noticed any great changes with Chrome's effect on my system. I know it's Chrome, as well, since everything runs smoothly when the browser isn't open, or at least if I only have, say, a single tab open.

To be honest I haven't noticed that many issues using Chrome, but this morning I had a hard time opening. Something about a server and exception (strange message), it also happened last week. But other than that no issues :) My experience with chrome is definitely way more smoother than it was with Firefox (it started freezing so badly and so often), but Chrome felt so light and fast on this laptop.

When I was using my HP laptop, Firefox was my favorite browser, and then Chrome. I didn't have too many problems with Chrome or Firefox on my Window laptop when I use them but that has been quite a few months ago.

Now, on my MacBook, I only have Safari browser. When I am working, I have to open a few Safari windows, and the only thing I noticed was how fast the battery is used.

@IcyBC A friend of mine owns a Mac and has the same problem, I thought it was just his machine with that issue. I had heard the same happened when you used Chrome, thought it made sense, but Safari? That is odd.

I've been having the same issue with Chrome, except on PC. It never had multiple processes running prior, but then I updated... and now it wants to run 10 of them at once. My computer has been a snail!
