GTKTerm and Prolific USB-Serial adapter

    Hi,

    I'm trying to get GTKTerm working on my linux AA1. I installed the drivers for the Prolific adapter as per the thread:

    viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2646&p=28786&hilit=prolific+PL2303+serial+port#p28786

    and the adapter is listed as /dev/ttyUSB0 in dmesg.

    However, when I try to select that port in GTKTerm , all I get is 'Cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: Permission Denied'

    Can anyone help?

    To me it looks like the problem discussed in the last two posts of the thread you mention: adding yourself to the proper group. --Japser.

    Hi Jasper,

    Thanks, that's exactly what it was...I thought it was something to do with the Wine compatability.
