It would appear that Fidohub is on Chinese Holiday until February 2nd.

Seeing how I have made so many mistakes on my TS install, I wish everyone a trouble free installation.

Very very cool to have touch screen working with Garmin GPS software....

I will do an installation of Windows XP Tablet Edition on my Aspire One soon to really try out the TS.

    hi all,

just fitted the 'toptouchscreen' solderless version from ebay, all works perfect but i have a few questions...

I am running windows 7 and have read that this has the 'windows touch' feature built in but i cannot find it anywhere, is it included in the 7000 build?

I saw a video of someone using the touchscreen to scroll through webpages, how do i set it up so i can do this?

Also is it possible to use to fingers to zoom and rotate photos like on the iphone? if so how do i go about setting this up.

edit: oh and one more thing - any good games that use touchscreen??

    Thanks in advance

    Bear

i made a topic about applications for touchscreen and i mention drag-browsing on firefox, you can just add the add-on from the firefox site, google it. as far as games and iphone stuff are concerned i was looking for them too but nothing yet :(\

on the win7 thing youre talking about i think somewhere in the start menu there is a 'tablet mode' thing, im not 100% sure..

Gom33. if you youtube fidohub i think there is a touchscreen instalation video :?

    In Vista;
On screen keyboard = Contol Panel / Ease of Access Center.
Scroll by flicks = Control Panel / Pen and Input Device / Flicks tab
Tablet PC Settings = Control Panel

hey guys, i have a problem.

jerryt, i have the same ts controller as you (SATURN): http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/saturn.htm

i have connected it as shown, windows has found "Unknown device" and put it into USB-devices section in hardware list (i cannot update drivers). i installed drivers 5.0.1.5310. "Normal PC, Point of Sale (POS), Kiosk and Industrial PC Systems. OS: Windows Vista, XP and 2000 (Not Tablet Edition)", but still nothing had happened. i dont wanna wire ts out since xp found something.

jerryt, did you have the same problem with drivers?

teh_qube (or jerryt), could you please send me the later drivers?

    thank you!

    @ ray_zorback

Your connections look fine. Try the earlier tablet PC drivers 2.0.0.0525
    http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalaxTou ... Driver.htm

Or select the device (be 100% sure which device) in the device manager and select update driver and go til it lets you browse (Have disk) for disk and select the driver from one of the two packages.

Be sure that nothing is bridging the top and bottom of the screen, like tape or glue. If the drivers load successfully you will see touchscreen in device manager and you can run the calibration utility.

    1. ive checked ALL the connections both with ohm and volt meter. no shorts, no bridges, no problems.
    2. i installed the 2.0.0. drivers. everything is the same like with 5.0.0. drivers. i also installed driver package, but windows still saw only "unknown device"
    3. then i uninstalled that unknown device out from the system and rebooted computer. when windows finish loading it found "USB Device", and again put it to usb devices in device manager as "Unknown Device"
    4. i tried again to update it browsing everywhere and trying every single driver i found but it still was telling me that "Windows couldn't find any appropriate driver for your device."

I have NO ideas what's wrong... Maybe i should rewire? i just dont know WHAT to rewire because everythings seems to be correct.

Connections along the TS side of the controller 1, 2, open, 3, 4.

Where are you getting USB wires from? Are you sure D+ and D- are correct?

    You could try a couple of things (no order to how you want to perform);
    1) Remove USB 5v power wire from controller, boot and remove any drivers, connect 5v wire and look for new hardware found window to come up. When "New Device Found" window comes up, run the 5.0.1.5310 installer without closing the "New Device Found" window.
    2) Remove wire number 4 from TS side of controller and see if drivers will load.
    3) Clean the screen for anything bridging the top and bottom of screen, even the sticky left from tape appears to be enough.
    4) Measure at the ZIF cable to the screen between pins 1 and 2 and you should see the panel go from "Open" to "Shorted" when you touch the screen. Repeat the test with pins 3 and 4.

    ok, ive done something.

    1. d+ and d- are correct, they connect to 8 and 9 pins.
    2. ive cleaned the screen for tape, no effect
    3. ive checked 1&2 and 3&4 with both volt and ohm meters. the screen does react, but doesnt short completely: resistance falls down twice, voltage falls from 3v to 0.1xxx volts.

    i will try later:
    1. disconnect from 5v power and try
    2. disconnect wire number 4
    3. if nothing helps i will try to reconnect the ts controller to some USB port

Hey, can anyone explain how to connect the TS controller to the standard USB port?

oh thats pretty easy and useful at the same time because you can test it directly,
basically instead of the CN11 either strip a usb cable that you have and use this as a standard colour guide:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB

scroll down to where it describes it

and then just connect each cable to its own place, alternatively you can strip a usb hub and see what cable goes where and desolder and use that cable
