    thank you, teh_qube.

tonite ive slept for 2 hours.. tried to do something with that.
    so what did i do:
    1. unplugged from 5v pin - unknown device had disappeared. windows stopped seeing the controller.
    2. plugged it back. unknown device had appeared and turned in the same position as it was before.
    3. swapped D+ and D- on the controller. device had disappeared again, so i returned everything as it was. connections are alrite.

i think maybe, MAYBE it may be solution in following. guys, does anybody know whan is gonna be if i unplug the grounding wire? how do u think, will windows see the device in that case?
cuz probably im not 100% sure but i think that ive put too much solder and connected by mistake ground connection on the controller with connection below it.

    0 v g + -
    o o o o o
    ----|-----
    o o o o o (open unused connections below)

im not quiet sure but ill check that later. anyway i DAMN got stuck! >(

dont worry, you're not the first to have a problem with the installation :) we all had our fair share of wanting to kill ourselves.. :p best thing to do with the grnd thing is just desolder it, try to clean the hole, twist the cable and then put it back through and re-solder it as neat as possible.

i still think you should try the drivers i used, you never know ;)

    ALSO: just remembered:

in your drivers from fidohub do you have an .exe file so you can install the driver/software BEFORE you install the ts controller? if so, disconnect controller>install drivers>connect controller and see what happens if it asks for the cd then install the drivers through the windows dialog.

    that might help.

    keep us posted :)

    continuing to report problems:

    1. ive reconnected the ground. these two pins (ground pin on the controller and unused pin below it) are shorting anyway. think it is as it should be. also, it doesnt matter if i ground the controller or not - windows finds it as unknown device anyway.
    2. ive checked the voltage of pins - power that goes to the D- pin on the controller is 5v, power that goes to the D+ pin is much lower. is that ok?
    3. then ive worked with software. ive installed and tried ALL the drivers (thanks to teh_qube). i switched off the device and installed drivers, but any ways - it finds the unknown device. moreover, i didnt say that it finds this device and no installation window pops up because windows sais that Device is installed and ready to use.

the only thing i headed to try is to connect the controller to the standard usb-port. if that doesnt help, i have no ideas what to decide.

anyway, thank you guys for your help, i will continue reporting until i reach success!

also try this: when you solder the controller. just the controller to a usb wire (an independant one) connect it to another pc to see if the other pc will recognise it. I tried it to my Vista laptop and thats how i confirmed that the controller was indeed ok as it was fine and the yellow led light was on. (i installed the drivers on my vista laptop before i connected the usb controller) and it recognised it under the mouse category fine.

    anyways, keep us posted :)

lastly, for the data & +5V cable what type have you used? the thick twisty ones or the single mould ones? it should be thick/twisty for +5v and thin single mouldish ones for D+/D-
also does your led light turn on?

    ok good idea, ill try.

ive got wires in the package - they were pretty thick in compare with zif-cable wires. so wires on the bottom of controller are all the same. btw you can look at them in the picture that i uploaded recently.

and yes, i dont have any led on it.. ive already thought about it, it would be great to have any indicator of life on it. :)

i finally got my touch screen done and set up... i am loving it... does anyone else think it makes the screen look kind of grainy when up close? i do not know how to describe it, lol.

One question, I got this all set up on my XP partition, but since I have a dual boot, how do I make this work on OS X? another thing, if i put a screen cover will it affect the touch in any way?

If anyone know I would greatly appreciate it.

    thanks in advance.

i am on my os x parition right now as i am typing this. when i turned it on to os x it found the driver i guess, since when i touch the screen the arrow would show, but it is WAY off. how do i calibrate it in os x? everything is working as it should be on xp but when i am on os x it is off. i touch a point and the arrow shows up on different section.

any help is greatly appreciated guys

Installed windows 7 and enabled the tablet PC functions, and after reboot the TS (Fidohub) loss calibration and was unuseable with the calibration software.

Then I discovered that Windows 7 has it's own touchscreen calibration tool under Tablet PC controls and after calibrating with Windows (16 points), Tablet PC functions are working fine.

you know in a mac, if you drag the mouse to the top left it shows all the windows you have open in a smaller version, and if you go bottom left it hides them all to show the desktop and if you go bottom right it shows the dashboard?

ok guys, ive found the problem! the problem is in that 8th and 9th pin usb-connection. ive found usb-cable and connected the controller straight to a standard usb-port through with that cable. windows has found the device, 4, 9 and 25-point calibrations do work, but draw test doesnt work. and i cant use it in windows yet. but anyway, the solution has been found. thank you anyway! now i need to correct 8 and 9 pin and once im done i'll report.
