GUMMU/WAMMU MOBILE PHONE SUITE PROBLEMS

HI i'm new to linux but would like to access my mobile via the acer I HAVE FOUND A FEW PROGS GAMMU+WAMMU BOTH WILL START TO LOAD BUT FAIL BECAUSE OF COMPATABILITY ISSUES .HAS ANYONE SUCESSFULLY LOADED THESE PROGS OR EQUIVALENT ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED
