Came home to find roof leaking rain water onto my aspire one D150. FREAK OUT!!

Immediately, took out the battery, and put laptop and battery in a container of rice.

    Am I scr*wed??

Will I need to take the laptop apart? Never done it before but, fairly confident.

How long should i leave it in the rice?

    Any input would be appreciative..

Let it dry out for at least a week near heat. Then turn it on and see what happens. I have had success with a couple of computers doing it this way.

    cheers mate..
took the one apart this morning,

looks like the rice did the trick, there were a few grains in the bottom of the case..,,

checked everywhere for signs of moisture,

then gave the whole lot a run over with the hairdryer to make sure.

    Powered it up,

and I am now happy again.

Big thanks to all who contributed to guides on this website.
