I read the compatibility thread and was a little confused as it says the 1998 version runs fine, but the 'Steam version' doesn't because it's on a different engine. Can I assume this means Half Life Source? I'm trying to get Half Life 1 to run, not the Source version, through Steam but am having difficulty. When I run the game, I get a splash screen of Gordon pop up but then the screen goes white and I have to quit with Task Manager. Any clues?
