Hi i hope i'm posting in the right part of the forum.

Anyway, my problem is for a friend who has set their hardware password, probably the harddisk password in the BIOS.
He knows the password and can log in fine, but seeing as the laptop is his girlfriends, she is now pretty miffed with him that she now has to log in everytime she wants to use her laptop. So my question is this, how does he now go about removing any password verification. I thought that it would be a simple process of going into the password setting in BIOS and entering blanks or just removing the password, is this the case as i dont want to tell him something that could effectively lock his harddrive.

    Thanks in advance...........
