    I replaced my 120GB 5400RPM 8MB Cache HDD with a 120GB 7200RPM 8Mb Cache HDD.
I re-runed the benchmark assesment but it gives me the same score for it: 2.9 :(

When I booted Windows 7 for the first time on my new HDD, I loaded the driver and asked me to restart my computer.
OK, I restarted it, re-runed the benchmark but the score is the same.
Only thing that changed was the CPU! (Weird!) From 2.1 to 2.2 :?

Check the speed with hdtune or something. The experience indix isn't accurate.

The hdd speed is not entirely dependent on the RPM. It's possible that your old 120GB 5400rpm hdd's speed is about the same as your 120GB 7200rpm hdd. Nowdays, the newest generation 5400rpm drives are much faster than older generations of 7200rpm hdds.

For example: a current generation 1TB 7200RPM desktop hdds are about 20% faster than WD rapter spinning at 10000RPM.
