HDD light flashing at all times

    my HDD light did not used to flash all the time but rather intermittently; now it flashes all the time at the same rate and you can hear it 'clicking'. I had a virus on here that just about killed the computer, but a friend of mine ran a recovery on it and he tells me that the motherboard might be fried. The computer works ok, but it does not perform as well as it did previously. Thanks for your help, JD
