Information says no HD. What can I do? when I turn laptop on it says "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"

Followed these instruction below: start button never did flash though. Went to boot directory and tried to boot from flash drive but nothing Disk Error press any key to restart

"Download the latest BIOS, and put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove the USB stick.

Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected. Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly after. Wait patiently.

Question Immediately after pressing the power on button and then pressing the F2 what happens? Are you able to see the bios motherboard set up screen.

No it just goes to a blank screen. If I hit enter it does nothing.

When going back to the setup utility use exit and ok save. it's looking good if you can obtain some bios settings. It could just be harddrive re-setup or at worse a replacement harddrive. lets see.

Just seen your post, Only way I can get laptop to go to Utility Screen is to put in flash drive with whatever or nothing on it and press fn+esc then power button then let go of all when it comes on then F2. If I just let load without flash drive it goes to a blank screen.

If I let load with flash drive that has whatever on it it says
Pen drive without operating system. Remove pen drive and reboot. No bootable device -- insert boot disc and press any key

If I let load with flash drive that has bios renamed and flashit on it only then without touching anything it says

    Disk error
Press any key to restart / when I do that then it says
No bootable device -- insert boot disc and press any key

Every time I press a key It keeps repeating

I'm lost thanks for taking the time in reading my post

No bootable device message is great news. it's telling you it can not find software instruction. it's looking like it a faulty harddrive if it does not list it in the bios.

No hdd message in the bios( boot section) is not good news and does indicate a failed hard drive. the main thing is the motherboard is working.

try removing and then refitting the harddrive worth a chance.
