help battery only holds a 45min charge?!

    well my dad bought a acer aspire one on black friday and he hasnt been using it alot aside from going to work with it. and even then he doesnt use it that much. but then how the hell does it only take a 45min. charge?! he installed a whole bunch of programs on the there like autoCAD (yea i know) and some others that he hasnt run on there in a while. now we cant return it to staples cause itsbeen a while and he threw away the box which was a biggo mistake. so what do we do?! he has the OG model (8.9 inch screen, HDD, microsoft xp) and its in blue. idk maybe color has to do with it! lol jk but can someone please help. this is strange cause when i bought my HP mini 1035nr on january it runs very good and then i bought an eee pc for my sister. and now my dad really doesnt want to send it over to acer or sell it cause he cant. so help?! :D

    You have to look at usage.

    Is he using AutoCAD or other hardware-intensive programs while on battery? If so, there's your problem. These itty-bitty batteries aren't made to be able to withstand that kind of use.

    If he's just surfing the 'net or doing word processing and gets 45 minutes, there's a problem.

    he just uses it to surf the net at home and hasnt used it a lot to work for months now. he has his desktop which is dedicated to autoCAD and other stuff but other than that he uses the acer for netting.

    Dont know if this helps, but manual says charge up then let battery go flat, do this 3 times before battery will keep full charge.
    Have you got 3 or 6 cell battery, Ive got the 3cell and 45 minutes/ hour is about usual.
    Also battery loses charge when switched off quite quickly. If it hadnt been used for a couple of weeks it had probably lost 25% before you started.

    My new Aspire One had to go back as it had a faulty battery. Don't discount that possibility.
