    I am attempting to add gimp from the linpus add/remove software function and am getting the following error:

    Unresolvable requirement libpanel-applet-2.so.0 for gnome-utils
    Unresolvable requirement libgnome-desktop-2.so.2 for gnome-utils
    Unresolvable requirement redhat-menus for kdelibs
    Unresolvable requirement libgnome-menu.so.2 for gnome-screensaver
    Unresolvable requirement redhat-menus >= 1.11 for htmlview

    and ideas how to correct this......I am relatively new to linux and totally new to linpus of fedora.....any assistance would be appreciated

    Have you tried...

    Code:
    sudo yum install makeclean gimp

    I'm was getting things mixed up with FreeBSD. Remove the makeclean and instead just put

    Code:
    sudo yum install gimp
    And that is what I did, if that does not work try to search on how in add the Livna repository then try again (Because I can't remember if it is on that one or not).

    still no luck

    I see now that acer has posted as .sh file with gimp, but since I am paranoid of doing the live updates since people have had so many issues, I am still trying to find a way

    Thanks

    the best way to install GIMP and skype is to go to ftp://ftp.acer-euro.com/netbook/aspire_one_linux/apps/
    you will find GIMP there, download it and unzip it, than double click the .sh file, and every thing will be fine. I think Acer should announce these software publicly, instead keeping them on a FTP that not any one knows ;)

    Where did you find that FTP site? And are there other ones?
