I have been at it for hours tyring for the life of me to get this AO150 to install vista with no luck..

The process seams so damn easy but no matter what instructions I try, I always get the same error message when trying to boot with the USB Drive.

The error is right after it starts to boot off the drive, it shows a vista looking dos screen titled Windows Boot Manager
    The first line is,

Windows did not start correctly, A recient hardware or software change might be the cause.

    Some more mumbo jumbo...

    Then the error message is..

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible

All I can do from here is reboot since it will not for the life of me use the usb drive.

I am not a noob to computers and have installed vista countless other times on systems with optical drives, but for the USB install I may be a little fresh but its seriously becoming more complex then expected and since nobody has had the same issue as me that I can find, I am hoping I can get some guidance here.

I have followed the info I have found many times on the net such as this..
    http://www.msfn.org/board/vista-t114092.html&st=6

Everything seams to go properly, the drive has a bootsector, the drive boots with it, but when it reaches the vista install part I believe it just craps out.

The only factor I can think of would be the version of vista I am using. I have a Vlited version of Vista Ultimate which I took from a vista RTM disk which has all the versions of vista on a single DVD. I cannot copy the 32bit version of the dvd alone since both 32/64 sides are over 4GB and I only have a 4G USB Drive atm.

I have tried to make sence of the USB_MultiBoot10.cmd ( http://www.msfn.org/board/vista-t114092.html&st=6 ) ( http://www.msfn.org/board/vista-t114092.html&st=7 ) and such but I sware either their English is horific, or I just cant make heads or tails of what they are talking about. When I try to use their tool it continues to appear that I need to have the XP source files while I am only trying to install the vista source files... So the whole program is useless unless I add both..

Augh I'm about to just go to Fry's and pick up an external DVD drive just to install vista.

i encountered this problem once. i dont know if its just dumb luck, but i copied the entire dvd onto my 4gb usb drive. booted the usb drive and formated the internal drive to ntfs using fdisk (in the fix my computer selection) then i rebooted and installed. it took about 2 hours. it stalled most of the time but i just doze off. when i woke up, vista is ready. hope you'll get to install yours bcuz vista is running better than xp and linux. good luck

Nevermind. The issue had something to do with my RTM disk I had of Vista. I got another disk and it worked just fine. It must have been something that the Bootloader didn't like about using a flash drive vs a DVD. Either way The instructions work just fine for formatting a flash drive to be bootable and a simple copy of vista files to the drive.

Now to swap out the 512 for 1G of ram I have lying around and getting the Intel nic card to replace this atheros one. (Already swapped out laptops since the first card worked but had no range. Now I have range but the card doesn't like heavy downloads. No biggie.
