HELP ME PLEASE....laptop is screaming at me

    Wicked loud sound won't stop. Only stops if I plug something into the audio out port, like headset. sounds like feedback.

    It may be exactly that. Try opening up the master volume control- for recording mode. See if there is a volume setting for the internal mike (there is). MUTE IT.
    Now what is listening to that mike and blabbing to the output channel? Hmmm...
