Help! monitor mode!

    Hey, for some reason i can't put the card (atheros AR5BXB63) into monitor mode but i have been told i should be able to, google brought up nothing that could help so does anyone have a bit of advice to get this to work before i throw this thing out the window.... >.>

    ..I don't mean to be rude but please don't patronize me, do you actually think i would be asking if i didn't try to set the mode to monitor?

    Sorry Dixie, but you didn't state how you tried to do it. I have no idea how much you know or don't know about Linux. In the future, I'll avoid replying to your posts.

    As i said, i was not trying to be rude but it's like saying to someone who's in a wheelchair "have you tried to walk."

    So is no one else even having this problem? should i contact the company directly?

    Does no one know the problem to this? can the acer aspire one even go into montior mode?


    I feel like i have wasted my time buying this laptop, there are several big problems with it (Like the above) Does anyone else feel this way?

    wlanconfig ath0 destroy
    wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmonde monitor

    Might work.
    Do note that hacking into wifi connections is a crime in many countries ;) Not that I assume you wish to know for that reason of course.

    Hmm, i think this will work, but my problem is that the usual way of doing this wont work, i mean it should do and could see no reason why it should not....


    Should i phone the acer helpline or whatever?
