I messed up my xfce4-session.rc file! Now all I get is a black desktop. Can not access the file system or any applications. Right click menu doesn't show. I made a copy of the .rc file. So all I need is to get into a terminal, and rename but I can't access anything. I have the search bar on the desktop, but even when I search for local files, e.i. thunar, terminal they won't open either, although they are found. PLEASE HELP - Rxman

Did you enable VTSwitch, or set up ssh, before changingyour desktop?

If not, I suspect your only way back will be a system restore; if the graphical interface won't start and you can't get a terminal via VTSwitch or SSH, you're a bit stuck.

Yeah, why Acer disabled something as immensely useful as VTSwitch by default is one of the great mysteries. I suppose they thought it might confuse Windows refugees....

    Hey, Rxman,

Next time, can you use a descriptive subject when you start a thread?

I would not only be helpful to others, it will be helpful to you too :)

Yes! , I have developed the habit of simply ignoring these threads.
