I would like to use ratpoison, xmonad or wmii as my window manager under Linpus.
Is anyone using any of the three above (or similar) under Linpus?

I have installed ratpoison using "Add/Remove" programs in the "advanced" menu.
When I come to the login screen, ratpoison is one of the available "session" choices. When I choose it and login, nothing happens.

Google didn't produce much beyond one post vaguely discussing a user having trouble enabling ratpoison.
I can compile wmii and xmonad from sources. The hard part it seems, is forcing Linpus to get away from xfce. Playing with runlevels by editing /etc/inittab (from 5 to 3) didn't work, since after reboot the graphical login screen was displayed again.

Any help would be much appreciated!
