So I've encountered a sort of unusual problem (well, at least for me). I have had Windows 7 for about a month, (Build 7077), and I had Windows XP Pro for about 5 months before that. During that time, I never had a problem with the Wifi, apart from getting a weak signal once in a while. Well, today, I bring the computer back from sleep to find that I can no longer connect to the Internet. The icon on the Taskbar shows a monitor and a cable with a red X over it and I can't connect to the Internet.
I've gone to Device Manager, and, under Network Adapters, there is only a Realktek Fast Ethernet NIC. I've also tried to install an Atheros driver for the wifi card (from Acer Europe) but it says that such a device is not detected. First off, does anyone know what the problem is? Does anyone know what I can do it get Windows 7 to recognize the wifi card?
    Thanks,
    Chatrapathi

try uninstalling the driver all together then rebooting. windows 7 should install the built in driver then.
If all else fails install the RC1, fixed tons of bugs.

This sounds a lot like the old problem it had with over heating, thou i've never had it on wake up. There has been one or 2 drivers added to the windows update service so make sure you've them installed other then that the only way I know of "fixing" this bug is turning the lappy off for a while ( until the underside feels cooler) then it normally comes back on.
