I have recently purchased the ACER Aspire one notebook. My main computer acceses the internet via my Orange account with my emails going to Microsoft office which also stores my calendar and contact details.

Is it possible to set up my notebook so I can pick up my emails, and contact details and calender when not at home, from the Aspire one Mail on my note book?

I have tried to set up my Acer apire one note book account to access my emails having obtained and entered the information given from orange to set up the email account. However I have received the following,

"The account does not exist make sure the user name and password are correct. Verify by clicking ?retry?, or modify your login information by clicking ?back?"

I have entered the information I was given but continue to get the above message. Can you advise please.

What is an Orange account? On your Main Computer do you have exchange, pop, or imap?

other than your username and password what settings have you put in that orange told you?

@jbhtex: orange is a phone company in the uk which also provides internet

@stephen: a more helpful/less caps lock-ish title would have helped more..

Sorry can't help with the email settings but the following may help generally.

The default Mail program can't do calendar stuff.

I've installed Thunderbird and Lightening which work a treat. Thunderbird can also download copies of emails (which Acer Mail can't) leaving them on the server so that your main PC can pick them up as well and hold all the emails (handy when you know you've got an email but can't remember which PC it was on!). Lightening will take care of the calendar side of outlook.

Instructions to install Thunderbird are here: http://macles.blogspot.com/2008/11/inst ... e-one.html
Instructions for Lightening are here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2313

As of yet I've not tried to sync Outlook with Thunderbird/Lightening (not sure if even possible).

    Hope this all helps.
