    Translation, anyone?
Edit: I googled a translator, and I believe, from the symptoms described that he may have a Bios issue. His symptoms, basically, are that when he switches on, his power light, and fan come on, and that is it.

    To the OP:

If I understand it correctly, didiersl says that the power led is on, the fan starts working, but that's all, nothing on the screen.

Sounds as if the OS is not loading. Is it Linux or Windows?

Have you tried rebooting the computer and then pressing F8 repeatedly as it starts up? Try to see if it will start in Safe Mode (which you should get after the F8 presses). When you reboot, are you getting any messages at all?

There is another method to restore the computer, but I am not familiar with the process on the AAO. If you are not careful you may damage or wipe XP off of your computer. Try to be patient and hope that others can join in the thread.

I'm not sure what you are doing or where you are but, if calling Acer is an option, they answer fairly quickly here in the U.S.
