Hi everyone. This is my first post. I have the 1gig windows version and like it alot. I have a 19in Nec monitor hooked up to the one now but want to get a 32in. sharp hdtv to hook up to it, model number is(sharp aquos lc32d64u) I was wondering if anyone has tried this and what the quality of the picture would be. 32in might be overkill but if it looks good I'm willing to do it. I was told by sharp that the tv would put out 1600x1200 resolution using the vga out, I'm running the Nec @ 1280x1024 and it looks great but it's only 19in. Thanks in advance. Brad.

Hi again everyone. I guess noone has tried doing this. Anyhow, I just sold my Nec monitor and I'm now ready to purchase a Samsung ln32a550 or ln32a650 hdtv monitor. Can anyone tell me if my one will support the 1920x1080 resolution on the Samsung. T.I.A.

I would answer, but I lent my vga cable to my mate at uni and forgot to get it back off him.
Why not go to the shop with your one and the cable, and tell them its very important to you, and can you test it before you buy.

ok, double check this as im not 100% positive at the moment, but i dont think you can go up to that res. with the AAO.
Besides, why would you? I mean, yeah you can use it in windows/other os at that res, but its not like you can watch a movie or something like that.. unless you like slideshows that much.

I'm not sure how the Acer deals with shared ram, but I know the core (GMA 950) should be able to perform. My doubts lie with whether the meager 8mb of video memory is upped any when connected to such a high resolution monitor (It'd have to be at least 32mb for comfortable viewing).

Excuse me for saying, but you don't need a 1080p 32" television. Honestly the only reason they make 1080p panels that small is for marketability. As a frame of reference, you can only start to discern the 1080i/1080p difference when watching a 52" or greater television from a distance of 10 feet or less. With a 1080i monitor your one could run comfortably with an output of 1280x720

My one drives full res. 1920x1080 on windows. It has the power to do so comfortably. But I'm unsure about the monitor.

Hi yet again everyone. Thanks for the replies to my question. I did a little research that might be helpful to some of you as well as me. I'm including 2 links below that tells the answer to my question. I may be reading this wrong so if anyone can see something that I'm not let me know. The graphics card we have in our one should be able to run a 1920x1080 monitor, maybe a little higher even. The 1st link is to notebookcheck which has alot of video cards on review. The second is the intel site that says the gma 950 can support up to 2048x1536 at 75 Hz maximum resolution, you have to scroll down on the page a bit to see this. I sure didn't think this video card could do this but I guess it can. Let me know if you see something that I'm not. Thanks again everyone.

    Here's the notebookcheck link. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Grap ... 177.0.html

    And the intel link. http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/gma950/index.htm

yeah, sure it maybe possible to have an image at that res, and use apps etc. but not watch movies.
admittedly, i have not tried yet, but my guess is that anything above 1024x768 would make the poor thing crawl..

My AAO works great with my 1080p 47" LG lcd tv. Its worked well except the acer bootscreen doesn't show up clearly (the lines are all wavy), but after the windows logo shows up there's no problem whatsoever.

I can watch 720P hi-definition video with 1366x768 resolution on my HDTV. 1080P video out will work great on AAO.
