    Hello all,
my hotkey volume (Fn + up/down arrow) and mute (Fn + F8) controls have stopped working. I can control the volume via sliders in various programs however.

Anyone got an idea how I can restore my hotkeys ?

    Cheers,
    Rob

You perhaps updated hal, hal-info or the kernel. There is a driver with extension *.ko in kernel modules. It is acer-hk.ko or a similar acerhotkeys.ko or something. You perhaps can find it on the DVD in the large archive file, containing the image of your system. But best consider restoring the factory state, because it is not normal that your hotkeys are not working properly. Don't update anything through package updater, except when you are sure it is necessary and unavoidable.
