Can't enter anything in the subject field when creating a new email on my Aspire One. I have no problem with this running under Ubuntu and Vista on other computers so am not sure whether this is a new problem or it has always a problem. I don't often create new email on the netbook, but just reply to them. Any help appreciated.

Just tried it - worked for me (Fedora Rawhide, LXDE, Firefox 3.5.6)

Thanks for your reply, RockDoctor, I am running Firefox V2.0.0.14 so it looks like my software needs upgrading. Have been thinking what to do to make life easier for the future. For me it would be difficult to keep the Linpus/Firefox system up to date but would like to stick to Linux. Am familiar with UBUNTU so would it be worth trying the 9.10 Netbook Remix package on my Acer. Don't want to spend all my time keeping systems up to date unless easily done so any suggestions as the best way forward much appreciated.

Have now fixed this problem by upgrading to Firefox 3.6, thanks to Darryl for providing the link which makes this upgrade very easy. Along the way tried a few other Linux flavours but found that I got problems with the WFI not working, probably a driver missing. Could connect with a wired connection but this rather restricts the Acer so will stick with Linpus as it now does everthing I need it for. Thanks to all for the help.

Rule #1: Use what works for you
Rule #2: What works for you may or may not work for someone else
Rule #3: For some unknown reason, Rule #2 especially applies to wifi :D
