    Hi,

I have just rented a desk in an office and I’m trying to connect to the wifi hot spot that’s there. I can connect to it with my phone, ipad and Acer net book however when i try to connect using my Aspire 6930 it starts to connect then says, This computer is connected to (Routers name) but dose not have access to the internet. If you are connecting to a wireless hotspot, you might need to open a web browser to finish connecting...... when i open my browser it should load the login screen to the wifi hotspot but doesn’t??? :( I have tried with deferent browsers, updated my wifi drivers but nothing works???? Please it would be so helpful if you guys have any ideas???

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Check in your web browser if you are trying to connect through a proxy.
In Internet explorer this is done through Settings >> Internet Options >> Connections Tab >> LAN Setting and unchecking the Proxytick box at the bottom.

Can you let us know which OS you are running ad which browsers you have tried connecting with?

Do you have to open the web page to connect on your phone/iPad/netbook or is it just the Aspire that is throwing this in?

    Cheers

    Paul
