Is there any talk about an "Ubuntu Aspire" custom version of Ubuntu like "Ubuntu eee"?

As I get used to my Aspire One, I am beginning to conclude that the hardware is fantastic, but the choice of Limpus was probably a mistake on Acer's part.

I'm a total Newbie to Linux so I can't contribute to the project except maybe the documentation.

Good News!!! Someone is working very hard doing exactly that....search the forum for "OneLinux" and give the guy all the moral support (or otherwise) you can. (Also check out http://www.onelinux.org)

Ooh. I'm pretty anxious for this to happen.
