I have installed various media players onto my Aspire One in the hope that i could rip or import then to my hard drive but none of them seem to work. They will play the tracks fine but there seems to be no way to import tracks. The media players i have on my system are Media Master,Gnome Mplayer, Sonata, VLC, K Player, XMMS player. Does anyone have any way to solve my problems? Thank you.

I am guessing that the problem is missing codecs. In ubuntu I use synaptic package manager to get GStreamer. I think it is also available in the Linpus repository.

I've never had any use for an Ipod, so I've never owned one. So, with regrets, I'll have to hand that one off to one of the other helpful gentlemen on this forum.
