how can i super underclock for very good power saving?

    I am using Ubuntu and want to under clock and turn off any thing that is not needed to :

    1. use open office to type

    and

    2. Read doc,pdf or other ebook, document type files


    i do not need to use internet, i do not need to use audio i just want to get the longest battery life i can and type/ read documents
