I have gone to the Firefox page and downloaded the version for Linux use, in the hope that it'll work on my Aspire One - but I cannot find any guidance anywhere on exactly what to do next - and there appears to be no "instant installation" option on the Firefox pages.

Can someone please tell me, in nice terms; and in easy to follow ones, fitting a beginner's needs (just getting into this Linux thing after decades with MS).

    Thanks.

Mine shows 3.0.3, and the "Check for Updates" choice under the Help menu is grayed out, which suggests this is the latest production release.

Mine is V3.0.8. If you follow the Macles route as mentioned in a previous post you will get a version with an operational update button.

I did this update and now FF seems very unstable.

I need to update form this version tot the latest version but the UPdate feature is greyed out in the menu.

I guess a fresh download of the latest FF wont harm just that i will have two Web Browser instances of code.

I just updated to FF 3.0.9 and it seems a lot more stable than the 3.0.4 version.

I used the Macles method for the upgrade.
