    Hi all. Ive just bought an AAO with 8gb ssd and 512 ram.

    Finally worked out how to get desktop options with the xfce-settings-show etc. Ive gained access to
    the add/remove programs section and then the package manager.

    I want to be able to run the linux lite as a traditional desktop, however everytime i try to run the kde installer from the
    package manager it comes up with conflicts and wont work. Have run live update and also software updater but it wont update
    the packages and says there are conflicts!

    Is it worth downloading the latest linux lite from linpus and booting from CD and fresh install or can i persevere with the add/remove?
    Thanks
    Ross

    Code:
    $ sudo yum update kdelibs
    $ sudo yum install kdebase kdeutils

    You have to activate gdm for session selection, I will update this post tomorrow.

    thanks for a reply! im frustrated! Ive never really used linux lite albeit any linux distro before. However i am a bit of a computer geek
    and use mac's and pc's so i find i understand some things.

    Ive started to get a grasp for the linux interface and subsystem however what is gdm?

    Again thanks for replying. There are too many posts on these forums that people read but dont bother to reply to!

    Thanks
    Ross
