I read today that Linpus came out with a new lite version, that boots in 15 seconds and the screenshots look a little nicer than the Linpus version that comes on the Acer. I have already switched to XP on mine, but Id like to install this as well. I read elsewhere (on their news section, I believe) that this can be installed to co-exist with Windows, but I cannot figure out how to install it!!

    Can someone help?! Please!

Click the 'support' link on the same web page, then click 'manuals' to select the specific manual for the AA1. There is a typo in the url, look for 'fpt' in the url and change it to 'ftp'. It's a 2 meg download

I was unable to download the software (connection being lost after circa 18 Mb Download - also very slow). :(.

Also when trying to download the manual, site keeps asking me for login name and password :(

Incidentally, when looking for some info on the Linpus Lite, I did find a video on a new Linpus OS (Linpus Quick OS) - however doubt that it is the same as the Linpus Lite edition

Linpus Quick OS video - for Linpus Quick OS beta (running on a Acer Aspire one) - Boot time extremly impressive although it did have some limited software.

Anway if someone manages to sort the download issue please advise :). Thanks.

I've got the new ISO, running it in a Virtualbox VM on my Ubuntu home PC. Looks interesting. Not put it on my AA1 yet...still getting Linpus V1 how I like it.

I downloaded it over my workplace 100mb LAN with 30mb net access. Heh. Took about 30 minutes.

I've got the iso and managed to burn it to CD and run a live version. Figuring out how to then copy and install a version onto a USB, for transfer to the AAO is beyond me I'm afraid. I'd welcome any help on how to do it.

    this actually works!

The wlan seems recognized @ first sight
however, I can't connect it, probably something with the driver.
    got to figure that out.

    further note:
have to check if I can change the icon theme, it's kind a childish

Does anybody know if there is a way to check if it uses the moblin suite? (don't dare to ask moblin v2??)
