HOW DO I STOP TAPPING?

    Every time I type the mouse 'jumps' and moves around.... how do i make
    sure it stays where it is. I was told it's a problem with Acer? can it be
    solved?

    Are you sure you touching touchpad with one finger only?? It happens when you f.e. catch touchpad with another finger during other operations...

    It sounds like you're brushing the touchpad with your palm when you're typing, I do it all the time on any notebook/netbook I use. You can try adjusting the sensitivity of the "palm check" in the mouse settings. Pull up settings>control panel>mouse. Under the Device Settings tab click properties, you'll find all kinds of adjustments for the touchpad. At the bottom is Sensitivy and under that is palm check.

    I'm assuming you're running XP as your operating system, if not someone else will have to point you to the settings in your operating system.
