I really find it frustrating to initiate the scroll gesture. It seems to only take 1 out of every 2 times. I'd rather just ditch all gesture-recognition altogether.

What have you experienced? How do I turn it off completely?

Under the Control Panel there's a Mouse icon, double click it then one of the tabs should say something about Synaptics, go to it. You can set the sensitivity and stuff of the gestures, change what each one does, set a corner of the trackpad to do something etc. I have mine set to have no gestures, no scrolling, and the top right corner to right click.

    Cool thanks!

I went to the tab for Device Settings, then clicked on "Synaptics" then Settings. I pretty much turned off everything.
