I picked up a 16gb SD card for One/160gb model. Can I leave the card in the slot or would that be a significant drain on the battery?

    thanks, 8

According to uncle google>> Sandisk: 40mA when used, 150uA when standby. SD (flash memory) does not require power to retain data. Believe there are similar values for other cards...

thanks for the quick response, do you know if the transfer speed of the Acer SD slot is faster than the USB? any utilities that you know of that would be good to test this?

    thanks again, 8

I'll have to report back on my findings once I have everything in hand, I will have a Class 6 16gb SD and a UDMA/CF USB2 card reader for a variety of CF cards, my camera only shoots CF cards, but I needed a transfer media, so we'll see.... thanks again.
